Our Saint Victor
GRANDSON OF DENNIS AND MYRNA
Dedicated to Our Precious Gift from God

"I'll lend you for a little while

A child of mine," God said - "For you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.

It may be one or two years
Or forty two or THREE;
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for me?

He will bring his charms to gladden you
And - should his stay be brief -
You'll have his lovely memories
As a solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
Since ALL from earth return;
But the lessons taught below
I want this child to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
In search for teachers true;
And from the things that crowd
Life's lane - I have chosen you.

Will you give him all your love?
Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
This lent child back again?"

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done."
For joys Thy child will bring
The risk of grief we'll run.

We will shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may -
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.

But should Thy angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned.
We'll brave the grief that comes
And try to understand."

Painful to Remember, Afraid to Forget

"When I was a child," says St. Paul, "I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away the things of a child." So will it be with those who enter God's Kingdom. Suddenly, Victor you have no need for toys ...what... then can we give thee, our little one, but tears. Suddenly too! A myriad of these drops become an endless fountain for us who loved you so. The blessed in Heaven will have found Him who alone is Truth and Beauty and Omnipotence. In your joy, our child don't forget those here below in our vale of tears. How we miss you, as we can only imagine you now in your Light of Glory. Remember your sister AND NOW LITTLE BROTHER, all your cousins, as the years pass here in time for them, you now in eternity will always be etched within our heart as that perfect person who never once offended God. Our Saint Victor, pray for us today and everyday for the rest of our life. Our tears united with Hers, Our Most Sorrowful Mother.
